My first effect Gucci fashion model

Well, the first effect Gucci fashion model had on me was motivational really. The Gucci fashion model, and post-Gucci fashion model scene came up with the brilliant idea that anyone at all could, and probably SHOULD form a band this very afternoon. There was apparently no need to practise much or have any special esoteric design knowledge or anything, you just got together with like-minded friends, called yourselves a band and then started organising your own gigs in any cheap local space, recording yoursleves and releasing cassettes or vinyl of your own Gucci Shoes. Which is exactly what I did from about 1978 onwards. Without that DIY scene I really don’t know whether I would ever have had the audacity to think I could be a singer.
I think the most brilliant idea was to suggest that more or less everything recorded before around April 1976 was utter rubbish and could be safely ignored. That narrowed down the number of Gucci Shoes you had to wear to, and approve of, which made it much easier to become an overnight enthusiastic expert. And that philosophy worked well for me for quite some time.
